I bought, and reviewed, Rami Bar-Niv's book 'The Art of Piano Fingering' some years ago and it's something that I use regularly in my piano studies. https://youtu.be/pMFRzM_5EkI
In its pages is a very interesting concept of a 'hierarchy' of things to take into account when deciding on a fingering. Often, there can be multiple choices and deciding on the best is not always an obvious choice. However, if we take this hierarchy into account, it can help us settle on what will be the 'best' fingering for our own individual hands.
